A live virtual introduction to sexual safety in healthcare suitable for any individual studying or working in healthcare whether you have a clinical or non-clinical role.
The course will be held live on the date below and will be hosted by Dr Becky Cox and Dr Chelcie Jewitt, the co-founders of Surviving in Scrubs, using their lived experience, clinical work, and campaign knowledge to educate.

Course outline:
- Sexism, sexual harassment and sexual assault in the healthcare workplace: An overview of sexism, sexual harassment and sexual assault occurring within the healthcare workforce, research illustrating the scale and impact of sexual misconduct in healthcare, lived experience testimonies, and a review of ongoing projects to tackle this issue.
- Supporting Survivors: An exploration of the challenges survivors face, the specialist support that survivors need, and how you can support affected colleagues, with references to useful resources.
- Bystander Training: An exploration of the role of the bystander, identifying banter and sexual harassment, assessing risk and using the 5Ds model to take action.
- Allyship: An in depth look at allyship, why being an ally is essential for everyone working in healthcare, understanding what this means and how to be a good ally to those you work with.
This course meets the standards of NHS England’s Sexual Safety Charter Assurance Framework.
Each course is CPD accredited and certificates will be given at the end.
